NETGEAR Router Login

Access your NETGEAR router admin panel to change WiFi password, update firmware, set up parental controls, and configure network settings. NETGEAR routers can be accessed via the web interface or the Nighthawk app.

Note: Newer NETGEAR routers may have a unique password printed on the router label. Check the bottom or back of your router.

How to Login

  1. Connect to your NETGEAR WiFi or use ethernet cable
  2. Open a web browser
  3. Type http://routerlogin.net or http://192.168.1.1
  4. Enter username: admin
  5. Enter password: password (or check router label)
  6. Click Log In

NETGEAR Nighthawk App

The easiest way to manage newer NETGEAR routers:

  1. Download NETGEAR Nighthawk app (iOS/Android)
  2. Connect to your NETGEAR WiFi
  3. Open the app and follow setup
  4. Create or sign in to NETGEAR account
  5. Manage WiFi, see devices, run speed tests

What You Can Configure

Change WiFi Password

  1. Login to routerlogin.net
  2. Go to Wireless (or SetupWireless Settings)
  3. Find Security Options
  4. Select WPA2-PSK [AES]
  5. Enter new password in Passphrase field
  6. Click Apply
  7. Reconnect devices with new password

Update Firmware

  1. Login to routerlogin.net
  2. Go to ADVANCEDAdministration
  3. Click Firmware Update or Router Update
  4. Click Check to see if update is available
  5. If available, click Yes to install
  6. Wait for router to restart (don't unplug!)

Factory Reset

  1. Find reset button (pinhole on back of router)
  2. Press and hold with paperclip for 10 seconds
  3. Power LED will blink amber
  4. Wait for router to restart
  5. Login with default credentials (admin/password)

Warning: Factory reset erases all custom settings.
